 ORGANISERS

 PHANTOMS FOUNDATION
The PHANTOMS FOUNDATION based in Madrid, Spain, focuses its activities on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (N&N) and is now a key actor in structuring and fostering European Excellence and enhancing collaborations in these fields. The Phantoms Foundation, a non-profit organisation, gives high level management profile to National and European scientific projects (among others, the COST Bio-Inspired nanotechnologies, ICT-FET Integrated Project AtMol and ICT/FET EUPHONON Coordination Action) and provides an innovative platform for dissemination, transfer and transformation of basic nanoscience knowledge, strengthening interdisciplinary research in nanoscience and nanotechnology and catalysing collaboration among international research groups.
The Foundation also works in close collaboration with Spanish and European Governmental Institutions to provide focused reports on N&N related research areas (infrastructure needs, emerging research, etc.).

 ICN2

The ICN2 is a reference centre for excellent research in nanoscience and nanotechnology, both at national and international level. Research at the ICN2 stands out for its multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary nature, since nanoscience results from the convergence and integration of multiple scientific disciplines, mainly: physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. Both fundamental and application-oriented research at the nanoscale is carried out.

The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences

The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, the Alma Mater Viridis, perceives itself as a teaching and research center for renewable resources, which are necessary for human life. It is BOKU's objective to help make a considerable contribution to the conservation and protection of resources for future generations by providing diversity in its fields of study. Connecting natural sciences, engineering and economic sciences, BOKU wishes to increase knowledge of the ecologically and economically sustainable use of natural resources, to provide a harmoniously cultivated landscape.

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC)

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is an interdisciplinary research centre focused on bioengineering and nanomedicine, based in Barcelona.
IBEC was established in 2005 by the Ministries of Innovation, Universities and Enterprises and Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Autonomous Government of Catalonia), the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). Today, IBEC’s relationship with the UB and UPC researchers continues to operate under a framework agreement signed in 2008. IBEC's mission is to conduct high quality research that, while creating knowledge, contributes to a better quality of life, improves health and creates wealth. The institute establishes close links with international research centres, universities, hospitals and industry to exchange talent and develop and execute projects.
The institute currently has 16 research groups and 250 researchers and staff from 20 different countries. IBEC's groups and their activities are organised into six research programmes:
Cellular Biotechnology; Biomechanics and cellular biophysics; Nanobiotechnology; Biomaterials, implants and tissue engineering; Medical signals and instrumentation and Robotics and biomedical imaging.

 Spanish Nanomedicine Platform (nanoMED Spain)

Spanish Nanomedicine Platform (nanoMED Spain) aims to bring together the most important Spanish researchers, industries and administrations, in order to promote a common strategy in such a multidisciplinary field as nanomedicine.
